Almost there

I had to adjust the little baby ticker in the corner of this blog, because we are certain now that we'll welcome Annika by September 4 the latest. If she doesn't come earlier, I'm going to be induced that day. So far we had two days with contractions for a few hours, so there is a chance that I'll go into labor before then. Annika will certainly welcome the freedom to move around, she is trying her hardest to maintain her exercise routine inside the womb despite the restricted space around her. Although she can't do somersaults anymore (the doctor confirmed that she is head down), her hands and feet go everywhere, which freaks Daddy out a little bit. In the rare moments when she decides to rest, she clearly prefers to hang out on the right side, which makes my belly look quite lopsided.

Michael has been a big "help" in getting ready for Baby Annika, here you can see him testing out the crib. He approved the set up, fortunately.

He also got some more teeth, and puts them to good use.

These days he keeps himself busy trying to climb pretty much anything, even a chest of drawers. When he needs some rest from that, he prefers reading a good book.

Or he combines his interests by climbing into the book basket...

Joe sent off his old set of students and welcomed the new ones. Supposedly his work load is getting lighter now, at least he will take some time off when Annika is born.

My parents are flying in on Friday, it's kind of a race between them and Annika as well as between them and hurricane Gustav. Let's hope that Gustav affects neither their travel nor a potential run to the hospital. And that Annika stays put until then so that Oma and Opa still get to see the big belly!
