We are 4 now!

On September 4, 2008, at 12.48 p.m. our daughter Annika Marie was born healthy and beautiful! We are a happy family of four now. Michael is growing quickly into his role as a big brother. While at times he still isn't quite sure what this tiny little something is about that demands so much attention and occasionally screams fiercely, he is getting used to her being around and his approach towards her is getting more gently.

The delivery was good, Annika surprised everybody by showing up just 40 minutes after Mama was still only 4 cm dialated. At that point everything went so fast that no tables were set up and the doctor was still putting his gloves on when her head came out. Fortunately from then on the medical staff had things under control and the rest went smoothly. Daddy was glad that due to the induction it happened in a hospital setting and not while driving to the hospital.

Annika was sleeping most of the time for the first few days, now she is becoming more alert. While she spits up more than Michael did and likes to poop and pee especially during a diaper change, she is nevertheless a wonderful, pretty baby and our family is truly blessed to have her.
