Michael's First Christmas (part 2)

Santa has been extraordinarily good to Michael, I have to say. But I guess he deserves it for being such a good baby. First of all, he got his two front teeth for Christmas!! After a few days of suffering on both his part and his parents', they finally came through. So cute, but oh so sharp when he bites... But he also got many new toys, books, and useful items for his new endeavor - eating solids - and seemed very pleased with all of them.

We decided to drive through the night up to Indianapolis. Joe did an awesome job without any help, and so Michael could sleep for most of the time. That made for a smooth ride. The drive back was a different story. But we made it back just in time to greet the New Year at home and then to fall into our beds totally exhausted.

We had a wonderful stay at Dominic and Holly's house, where we got to meet Michael's newest cousin: Evangeline Guerin, who was born on December 18. Michael and she seemed to bond right away...

It was nice to experience Christmas morning with an excited child who had oh so much fun opening purple presents, i.e. Cordelia. Later that day, all the children and grandchildren gathered at Mom and Dad's, that made for 11 adults and 15 children! It was loud and lovely, and good to see everybody.

Joe's highlight was certainly going to the Colt's game with Dominic (thank you for the ticket!). The last regular season game in the RCA dome, vs. the Titans. Didn't even matter that the Colts didn't win. Holly and I stayed at home watching the game on TV, looking out for the guys who were easy to spot since they were wearing blue... ;-)

All in all, we truly enjoyed Christmas, and had a good start into the new year. May all of you have a healthy, prosperous, and happy year 2008!
